Like all holidays, Valentine's Day can also be a time of sadness and sorrow devoid of fancy dinners, fancy gifts, flowers, chocolates, togetherness. Those who have lost loved ones, those who have lost at love, those who have never loved, those who have never experienced the transformation love can do, sit in silence and wait for the day to end, or pay no attention to it at all. . . a way to numb and distract the emotions.
Or. . .the memories of loved ones or love can be soothing, healing, and caress an empty spirit. For as the saying goes, it's better to have loved than not loved at all. And I add. . . to experience the power of love as to not experiencing it at all.
"With our abundant way of life, we have so much to comfort us. The one thing we could never do without, could never be bought, no matter how generous the terms, is love. . . in all its forms, precious, fragile and enduring. It's the priceless gift that makes our lives worthwhile. . . offered in silence and more precious than gold".
